Dear Honorable members of the YMCA,I wonder if the elected officer bearers National Council of YMCA have the right to take these kind of decisions without consulting members of YMCA? What does the statutes of YMCA say? Can YMCA hold a joint program with RSS, which is spearheading hatred against our community? Under such circumstances how can we even think of it?Request honourable members to share their point of view, especially if you do NOT agree with me.Thanks & regards,A C MichaelFormer Member of Delhi Minorities CommissionMobile: +91-9999940633 / +91-9818155290---------- Forwarded message ----------

India is a free country, a democracy, and every citizen has the freedom to chose her or his ideology, faith and profession. Political parties have the right to exist and people have the right to vote for any party they chose. That is why at various times in states and at the centre, just about every party has been elected, or come to power, representing Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, atheists, Tribals, Dalits, communists, Marxist-Leninists and various ethnic groups including Sikhs, Tamils, Telugus, Lingayats, Vokkaligas, Valley Kashmiris, non Valley Jammua and Kashmiris, and the many groups of the North east. More parties are born every day. Each one of them is registered, has sworn an oath of loyalty to the Constitution. Even the SDPI and AIDUF of the Muslims, the Shiv Sena of the Hindus and the Akali Dal of the Sikhs. The BJP is also a registered party. Christians vote, or not vote, for these parties without any let or hinder.
There are many non-state actors which do not come in this cagegory. Among them are extreme Left groups, extreme regional groups as in the North East. And the RSS.
The founders of the RSS identified three enemies of India -- Muslims, Christians and Communists. Recently Sadhvi Deva Thakur said "The population of Muslims and Christians is growing day by day. To rein in this, Centre will have to impose emergency, and Muslims and Christians will have to be forced to undergo sterilisation so that they can't increase their numbers." Several judicial commissions have indicted RSS cadres in communal and targetted violence. Orissa chief minister, Mr Navin Patnaik told his state legislative assembly the Sangh was involved in the violence against Christians in Kandhamal in 2007 and 2008. In that violence, more than 6,000 houses and 300 churches were burnt, 120 pastors, men, women were killed, several women including a Nun were gang-raped, and 60,000 persons rendered homeless. There has been no apology.
Any individual Christian or private organisation, company or school is free to invite RSS leaders and dialogue with them, as others are free to call and dialogue with Maoists, JeM or any other group.
Every church leader has met or wants to meet the Prime Minister, Mr Modi. He is the head of the government. It is right and proper to meet him, protest to him, make demands, present memorandums.
RSS is not involved in government, is not involved in creating jobs, is, technically, not in power as a government. It remains a non governmental ideological organisation with its specific agenda.
It is the right of people to support it, or to join it as members
It is also the right of the people to oppose it, challenge its ideology and philosophy.
The National Council of YMCAs represents the YMCA movement. As such it must tell the movement if it has a programme for also dialoguing with other non state ideological organisations representing other nationalism, and other religious and political groups.
For the record, the CBCI and other Christian groups have dialogued at least four times with the top most RSS leaders since 1999. The results are for all to see.

Dear All,Greetings to you! From last few days I am getting emails, constantly, about the Open Session which RSS will be holding with Christian Institutes and ecumenical organizations on May 16, 2016 at National Council of YMCAs of India. I am disheartened to receive and read these hate emails from members of various Christian organizations about their hate towards RSS.I am not a member of RSS but I am an educated and informed Indian citizen. I have read the ideology of RSS and have understood it minutely.I have also read write-ups of RSS leaders in News Papers, heard and watched them on TV debates and otherwise. I don't think RSS is against any religion.Few people are speaking against RSS by saying that RSS is spreading hatered against OUR COMMUNITY (Christianity) and it only talks about religion, about less equal rights to religious minorities.etc. These are all biased and baseless allegations. RSS talks about Nationalism and India. And what's wrong in it?It is correct that amongst us some are children of Jesus Christ, some are from Ram, Buddha and Allah. But are we not Indians......sons and daughters of Mother India. Very few countries in this world have equal rights for minorities and majorities and I am proud that India is one such country.Initially people felt that Modiji is anti-minority. But from last 2 years Modiji is Prime Minister and has he ever said anything against any religion ever? Infact he talks about SABKA SAATH, SABKA VIKAS.I am much younger to all of you in age and experience. If RSS and National Council of YMCAs of India are holding a session with Christian community for social harmony and are going to have a dialogue then what's wrong in it? We all should support such open dialogues as these are good for our India, our country.Since all these emails have been coming to me, so I have also presented my view point.Warm regards,Ritu.
Dear Ritu,Greetings. I have gone through your comments. RSS is very much against the Christianity and does not allow us to preach the gospel or the message of Jesus Christ. They hate our Christian missionaries who are doing social work among the downtrodden. This shows your poor knowledge about the RSS and its hidden agenda. They are like wolves in sheep clothing. They are the brain behind Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bsjrang Dal who are attacking and burning our churches. Just google the net and you will find out lot of information about them.
