This ia a very good initiative, God's willing we shall continue to provide the needed guidanec for the youth, in this country of ours, wherein youths have become instruments of thuggery, vandalism amongst others.
All the best.

NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND ECONOMIC SUMMIT,

MAY 2010.

SUMMIT CONCEPT PAPER

BACKGROUND

The world is going through a very difficult economic challenge. Nigeria is not spared in an economic meltdown that has already made nonsense of our national budget. Unemployment is on the increase as companies are folding up. The temptation for many will be to resort to all kinds of corrupt activities. The youth are most hit in these times and as such create the possibilities of crimes on all fronts. History has proven that when nations go through difficult times it creates opportunities for the emergence of visionary leaders. In the midst of hopelessness and leadership failure there must be a reawakening. There has been no other time in history that demands the emergence of leaders than now; leaders that will navigate through these difficult times with a sense of purpose, driven by vision and sparks of innovations that will create institutions and businesses that will become the foundation for our nation’s prosperity. These times call for a huge investment from both the private sector and government institutions to develop the leadership capital of young people. This will create opportunity for values orientation, sound attitude development and the deepening of the spirit of enterprise. We are glad to announce the National Youth Leadership and Economic Summit being organized by Guardians of the Nation International [GOTNI] , The Nigeria Economic Summit Group [NESG], Ministry of Youth Development, Ovation International, Sar’dauna Magazine and other government and private institutions.

The Event

The envisaged format is the gathering of 700 of the very best of Nigerian youth leaders selected from various sectors of the economy. These young people who will be chosen by nominations by their companies, organisations, mentor and states, will be required to submit essays on why they deserve to participate at the summit. The very best will be chosen to learn from, interact and engage with outstanding speakers and mentors at the summit. At the end of the summit, the participants will become trainers as they embark on the mission for a new leadership culture in Nigeria.
