Hello all,

Hope you're doing well. Last week we (Nicolas and myself) had the opportunity
of meeting with few members of the Wikimedia Foundation (Amal is one person;
Cc-ed). We had a discussion regarding possible ways in which they would
be able help the Commons Android app. The main outcome are as follows:

- Wikimedia Foundation is willing to help with urgent issues such as Play
store policy problems, etc. when brought to their attention.
- They also mentioned the idea of dedicate one sprint or two a year on
proactively helping the Commons app.

We are thankful to the Wikimedia Foundation for stepping forward to help the
Commons Android app given as part of their commitment to improve
Commons [1].

Hoping for great collaborations in the coming days :-)

On a side note, Nicolas had prepared a wonderful presentation to be used during
the meeting. It could be found at [2]. You could check that out if
you're interested.

This might be a mundane thing but I think it's important and great to hear. Getting a Play Store approval can be frustrating, often because Google's messages can be too generic and we might not exactly know what's wrong, and have to keep changing things somewhat blindly. (The last incident in the Commons app doesn't seem like an isolated one - I have seen similarly frustrating experiences in getting approvals for other small apps I'm involved with.) It's certainly nice to be able to get help from someone who hopefully has better contact with Google's side or just generally more experienced with the process.

And of course, sprints dedicated to the Commons app sounds interesting!
