Greetings, Commons App Maintenance Team.

I'm writing to you on behalf of Wikimedistas de Uruguay (WDU) regarding a local campaign we have recently launched titled "Desafío Uruguay Express: Patrimonio en tu bolsillo".

Our primary goal is to encourage newcomers to contribute to Wikimedia Commons by utilizing the mobile app, specifically focusing on the "Nearby" feature to document local heritage. The campaign is currently active and will run through April 26th.

Following a suggestion from whym, I’m writing to see if we can implement a tracking tool to gauge our project's reach. We are particularly interested in identifying how many downloads or new active users come from Uruguay during the period of April 6 to April 26, as this will help us measure the success of our efforts to increase app adoption.

Thank you very much for your time and for all the work you do in maintaining the app. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hi Paula

First of all, thank you very much for running a campaign to promote the Commons Android app. Very much appreciated! Hoping that we'll see more such campaigns that increase the app's adoption :-)

As of now, there's data from April 6-8 in play store. It shows 10 users visited the app store from Uruguay out of which 7 of them installed the app. We can give more details once they materialize on Play store. If you prefer sharing future metrics privately, that could also be done.
