CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE: JAREN AND JAYDEN

Jared and Jayden are twins. They were born in Omni Hospital in the outskirts of Jakarta. Due to medical malpractice, the boys left the hospital with eye problems and Jared completely lost his eyesight. For several years, the mother of the twins, Juliana, has been campaigning to have her case heard. The hospital has offered her more than Rp2 billion to keep quiet, but for Julia, justice is priceless.

FILEP KARMA REFUSES INDONESIA'S REMISSION

West Papuan political prisoner Filep Karma was arrested for raising a Morning Star flag of Independence on December 1, 2004. This year, Karma rejected the prison sentence remission offered by the Indonesian Government in correlation with Indonesia's national Independence Day. Karma says that he prefers to serve out his sentence and demands the Indonesian Government apologise to the Papuan people for all the atrocities it has caused. He is currently serving a 15 year sentence in Abepura Prison, Jayapura, West Papua.
EXILE AND THE KINGDOM

This is the first complete account in Australian film history of the experiences of a community of Aboriginal people from pre-colonial times to the 1990s. This video makes the connection between Aboriginies in chains in the 19th century and Aboriginal people in prisons today, providing a deeper understanding of how the violence and denials of the past shape the present.
The Cikeusik attack occurred on February 6, 2011 when more than 1000 men attacked 17 members of the Ahmadiyah minority Islamic faith. During the attack, three Ahmadiyah members were killed and four others seriously wounded. This video was recorded during a court session on May 31, 2011, in the Serang Court, Banten, West Java. In this session, Deden Sudjana testifies as a witness to one of the defendants, Adam Damini.

It's that time of year again, when EngageMedia along with documentary makers from all over Southeast Asia head to Malaysia for the KOMAS Freedom Film Festival (FFF). Established in 2003, FFF showcases outstanding human rights documentaries through a competition, video workshops and film screenings.
