I. WEEK OF 3/30: Public Hours / Open Shop

In addition to our regular hours on Sundays, next week is the launch of Additional Public Hours on Tuesday evenings for the 2025 season.

Some Notes (Public Hours on Tuesdays)

1. Min. Coverage: We'll continue to observe our minimum needs to be open to the public (including a confirmed person to open/close and a minimum of two volunteers signed up for the duration).
   
   
2. April-October: We're tentatively planning to host Public Hours on Tuesday evenings through the end of October, 2025.
   
   
3. Split Into Two Slots/"Shifts": Several regular volunteers are free to open at 5:30 PM (prompting the earlier open), so we've split the 2.5 hour session into two slots/shifts:
   
   
1. A "30-Min. Early Slot" from 5:30-6:00 PM, and
   
2. A two-hour slot from 6-8 PM (i.e. for those who might not be able to make it until 6 PM).
   
   (The uneven-duration setup is a new approach--feedback to Allen and me offline is welcome (adun...@gmail.com, i...@commoncycle.org).)
   
   
4. Tuesday Signup FAQ
   
   So, I want to volunteer for the full duration (5:30-8:00 PM) - where should I put my name?
   
   Please drop your name in twice (once for a 5:30-6 PM slot and also for a 6-8 PM slot).

   If I sign up for the 5:30-6:00 PM slot, can I stay longer? I don't want to volunteer for only an half-hour.
   
   Yes, this is fine/welcome - if you'd plan to stay until 8, please sign up for the 6-8 PM slot as well. If you'd plan to leave before 8, just sign up for the 5:30-6:00 PM slot and take off any time after 6.
