Hello, Friends of Common Cycle:

Yes, yes - the next few weeks might just be the busiest stretch of the year. A few gentle reminders as we head into it:

• Greeters wanted! – When a queue forms, it’s especially helpful (and very delightful) to have a Greeter up front. Consider taking a Greeter shift - welcoming folks and pointing them toward an available workstand. If you are curious and haven’t done this before, let us know - we’re happy to give you a quick orientation.

• They wrench, we guide – Teach a person to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime… As always, we’re all about putting tools in the hands of users and letting them do as much of the work as possible. Let’s continue to offer guidance and answer questions, while helping folks build their own confidence and skills.

• Critical repairs before nice-to-haves – Especially when folks are waiting for available workstands, it can be helpful to prioritize safety-critical repairs before diving into the nice-to-have projects. Folks are very welcome to return next time to continue working on their bike.

About Public Hours: Visitors have access to our community tools to do maintenance and repair, and are welcome to seek help from volunteers. Our volunteers range from interested newbies to experienced mechanics, and we empower all kinds of cyclists to fix all kinds of bikes.
