to Common Cycle

Hello, bike folk!

Are you passionate about cycling and using social media for good? Join our team and help us spread the word about the transformative power of bike education!  We're searching for a creative and enthusiastic volunteer to amplify our outreach and grow our community.

What You'll Do:

  • Social Media Management: Draft posts and monitor platform activity on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, etc. Repost and interact with other bike-related social media channels.

  • Content Development: Canva graphics, photos, images, and social media posts. Attend Common Cycle events (if desired) and take photos with participant permission for social media.

  • Photo Curation: Help refine and implement a system to capture and organize photos of our programming.

Who is a Great Fit for This Role:

  • You have 1-2 hours per week to contribute.

  • You have a passion for cycling, community, and bike education.

  • You like to get creative and enjoy writing.

  • A basic understanding of graphic design tools (like Canva) or a willingness to learn is also a big plus, but not necessary.

You will support Common Cycle’s communications goals:

  • Increase our social media activity and diversify our post types

  • Develop a photo curation and organization system

  • Update website text and images

You will also contribute to the culture and vibe of bike advocacy in Ann Arbor and beyond. You will connect and foster partnerships with passionate local bike advocates.

This is an unpaid position, but volunteers receive a 50% discount on bike and parts sales, admission into our courses, and expanded access to our workspace.

How to Apply:

If you are interested, please send a brief statement of interest to communi...@commoncycle.org.

If you know someone who would be a good fit, feel free to forward this email.
