We are excited to announce that our website is up and running. The link is:
It will be invaluable in amplifying our efforts to eliminate hunger and childhood obesity in Greene, Jones, and Lenoir counties. We welcome your input to better develop it as a virtual meeting and marketplace of green ideas to improve quality of life in our region for all our residents. Share with us your community's good news!
We also remind you to consider giving this Christmas season to local efforts like our city farm and park in Kinston.
We are raising $10,000 to develop a comprehensive design for the five-acre project. So far, we have succeeded in establishing a
community garden & orchard. The unique project is a hybrid: part
agricultural learning center and part nature discovery park. It will give Kinston residents greater access to healthy food and safe opportunities for outdoor, physical activity. And it will serve as STEM outdoor classroom and field trip destination for school children from across the region.
