Join Brooklyn Queens Land Trust's President, Demetrice Mills and wife Dorothy, and The 2012 Mills Family Reunion family for a fun and lively film screening of the brilliant award winning documentary "Soul Food Junkies", a loving tribute that examines the multilayered relationship between, food, family and culture.
After the film we will engage in an open honest conversation in where all present can share ideas and recipes, offer healthy cooking tips and tricks as well as discuss challenges when working towards wellness and sustainable eating.
This is a family-friendly event where all are encouraged to just come and take part in the conversation.
Let's revisit the old school tradition of connecting with each other in a meaningful way over growing, cooking, and eating healthy foods / meals.

*****
The Brooklyn Queens Land Trust is an independent, non-profit grassroots organization that was incorporated in 2004. The organization is comprised of 32 member community gardens, 26 of which are located in Brooklyn and 6 in Queens, New York. BQLT and its members are owners and stewards of garden properties and responsible for protecting their status as undeveloped property, in perpetuity.
BQLT's history began more than 10 years ago when community gardeners, greening organizations, and open space advocates created a city-wide grassroots campaign to save community gardens.
We are pioneering model urban gardening and farming, addressing the needs of our community and beyond, by addressing the quality of the healthy foods available, where community residents can grow their own fruits and vegetables while increasing the accessibility of no-cost fresh foods to their families. Community Gardens are making a significant impact in the communities they are located in.
Please feel free to share this information with your neighbors, family and friends.
ALL ARE WELCOME!!

Hope to see you there!!
