The Bisphenol A Price Trend changed sharply during Q2 2026, with prices moving higher across major global markets. The quarter was influenced by a combination of rising crude oil prices, higher feedstock costs, geopolitical tensions, freight problems, and steady demand from industries that use Bisphenol A (BPA).

Phenol and Acetone, two important raw materials used in BPA production, became more expensive as energy and crude oil costs increased. At the same time, uncertainty around international shipping and the Strait of Hormuz added another layer of pressure to the market. As a result, buyers in both producing and importing countries had to deal with significantly higher procurement costs.

For many businesses, the second quarter was a good example of how quickly global events can affect the price of an industrial chemical. BPA is used in products and materials connected with epoxy resins, polycarbonate, coatings, electronics, automotive applications, construction, and other industrial activities. When production costs and transportation expenses rise at the same time, the effect can move through the entire supply chain.

What Happened to the Bisphenol A Price Trend in Q2 2026?

The overall market direction during Q2 2026 was strongly bullish. In simple terms, this means that Bisphenol A Prices increased across most of the markets covered during the quarter.

One of the main reasons was the increase in crude oil prices. Higher crude oil costs generally put pressure on petrochemical feedstocks, and in this case, Phenol and Acetone became more expensive. Since these feedstocks are directly connected to BPA production, manufacturers faced higher operating and replacement costs.

Geopolitical tensions also played an important role. Concerns connected with the USA-Israel versus Iran conflict created uncertainty in global petrochemical trade. The strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz made the situation even more sensitive because disruptions or security concerns around this route can affect energy and chemical transportation.

Shipping costs also increased. Freight rates, marine insurance premiums, and delivery times became more challenging for import-dependent markets. Buyers were therefore not only paying more for the material itself but also paying more to bring the material to their destination.

Regional Bisphenol A Price Trends

The movement in BPA prices was different from one country to another, but the overall direction was upward.

South Korea

South Korea recorded an increase of approximately 29% in the BPA export price during Q2 2026. Higher crude oil prices increased Phenol and Acetone costs, while geopolitical uncertainty supported stronger export offers.

Demand from epoxy resin and polycarbonate manufacturers in India and Southeast Asia remained healthy. Producers also maintained controlled operating levels, which prevented excessive spot availability. By June, prices were still close to their quarterly highs.

Taiwan

Taiwan experienced one of the stronger increases, with BPA export prices rising by approximately 39% during the quarter.

Higher feedstock expenses were an important factor, while uncertainty around shipping routes increased logistics risks. Demand from epoxy resin, polycarbonate, and electronics-related manufacturers remained steady.

By June, prices remained firm even as some freight conditions started to improve. This showed that strong underlying demand was still supporting the market.

Thailand

Thailand recorded an especially sharp increase of approximately 84%, making it one of the biggest movements among the tracked export markets.

The increase reflected higher crude oil, Phenol, and Acetone costs, combined with supply-chain uncertainty. Demand from Asian and North American buyers remained strong. Epoxy resin, polycarbonate, construction materials, and protective coatings continued to support consumption.

Even though shipping conditions slowly improved toward June, BPA prices in Thailand remained high because replacement costs had increased significantly and supply had become tighter.

Import Markets Also Faced Higher Costs

Importing countries experienced another layer of price pressure because they had to account for international freight and insurance costs in addition to the higher product price.

India

The BPA price in India increased by approximately 30% during Q2 2026. Higher South Korean export prices and increased freight costs raised the overall landed cost.

Marine insurance premiums and longer shipping times added further pressure. Despite the higher prices, demand remained healthy from epoxy resin, electrical laminates, protective coatings, automotive parts, and construction materials.

Many buyers continued restocking because maintaining sufficient inventory was considered more important than waiting for lower prices during a period of uncertainty.

China

China saw BPA import prices rise by approximately 28% during Q2 2026. Higher South Korean export values, rising crude oil costs, and increased freight expenses all contributed to the increase.

Demand from electronics, automotive, construction, epoxy resin, and polycarbonate industries remained stable. Importers continued purchasing to make sure they had enough material available while international supply conditions were uncertain.

By June, prices remained high but relatively stable as shipping conditions gradually improved.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia recorded an increase of around 29%. Higher export prices and freight costs pushed landed import values higher.

The situation around the Strait of Hormuz was particularly important for Middle Eastern trade because increased security concerns affected shipping confidence and insurance costs. Buyers maintained healthy inventories to reduce the risk of future supply interruptions.

Brazil

Brazil saw BPA import prices climb by around 40% during Q2 2026. Higher Taiwanese export prices combined with rising ocean freight costs created substantial upward pressure.

Demand from epoxy resin, polycarbonate, packaging, automotive, and protective coating industries remained healthy. Importers continued to secure cargoes despite higher prices because replacement costs were already elevated.

South Africa

South Africa recorded an increase of approximately 34%. Higher Taiwanese export prices, freight charges, and marine insurance expenses all contributed to higher landed costs.

Demand from coatings, epoxy resin, construction, electrical, and industrial manufacturing remained supportive. Buyers continued replenishing stocks as a way of reducing exposure to potential shipping delays.

United States

The United States experienced one of the largest increases, with imported BPA prices rising by around 77% during Q2 2026.

Higher Thai export prices combined with increased crude oil, Phenol, and Acetone costs created substantial pressure. Trans-Pacific freight and insurance expenses also increased.

Demand from automotive, construction, electronics, epoxy resin, polycarbonate, and wind energy applications remained strong. Buyers appeared more focused on securing supply than simply finding the lowest possible price.

Germany

Germany recorded an increase of around 25% during the quarter. Higher South Korean export prices and freight expenses pushed European procurement costs higher.

Demand from automotive, electrical, construction, epoxy resin, and industrial coatings remained healthy. By June, prices were still elevated, although improving logistics helped bring some stability to the market.

What Does the Bisphenol A Price Chart Show?

The Bisphenol A Price Chart for Q2 2026 shows a broad upward movement across the major markets discussed above. The increases were not identical, but the direction was generally the same.

The strongest increases were seen in Thailand and the United States, while Germany recorded a comparatively smaller increase. This difference shows that BPA pricing is influenced not only by production costs but also by the origin of supply, shipping distance, freight rates, insurance costs, regional demand, and local supply conditions.

For importers, the final price is therefore more complicated than simply looking at the export price. A product can become more expensive at the production point, and the final landed price can rise even further when freight, insurance, and delivery risks increase.

What Does the Bisphenol A Price Index Tell Us?

The Bisphenol A Price Index remained strongly elevated through Q2 2026. However, by June, there were early signs that the market was beginning to stabilize.

This does not mean that prices returned to earlier levels. Instead, it suggests that some of the extreme upward pressure was starting to ease. Geopolitical risk premiums gradually declined, shipping conditions improved slowly, and freight fluctuations became less severe in some areas.

Still, prices remained well above Q1 levels. Strong downstream demand and elevated replacement costs continued to provide support.

Bisphenol A Price Forecast: What Could Happen Next?

Based on the Q2 2026 market situation, the near-term outlook for BPA remains closely connected to crude oil prices, feedstock costs, geopolitical developments, freight rates, and downstream demand.

If crude oil and Phenol and Acetone costs remain elevated, BPA producers may continue facing high production costs. Likewise, any renewed disruption around important shipping routes could quickly increase freight and insurance expenses.

On the demand side, continued activity in construction, automotive, electronics, protective coatings, epoxy resin, polycarbonate, and wind energy could provide further support to the market.

However, if geopolitical tensions continue to ease and international logistics return closer to normal, some of the additional risk premium could gradually disappear. This could limit further price increases and encourage greater market stability.

Therefore, the most reasonable view after Q2 is that BPA prices may remain relatively firm in the short term, while the direction of the market will depend heavily on energy prices, supply availability, freight conditions, and the strength of downstream consumption.
