Swather

On February 9 TH "The Hit" awoke with Bertha at the side of his bed,
and he searched for the origin of the Mysterious Financier in
Ridgedale in July of 1996 where he was working. The concrete pillars
had dried for the steel bins. They built 6 new Wessteel hopper bins
in the first 3 weeks of July. He started cutting hay for the cattle
in the third week of July with "his" Swather. In late July and the
first 2 weeks of August he cut oats, barley, and finally wheat from
morning to night. "The Hit" didn't enjoy building steel bins all day
in the July heat, but he did enjoy running the Swather all day. The
food was delivered to the fields, and he worked about 50 - 60 hours a
week swathing. He only went back to St. Brieux for one weekend that
summer. The town drunk decided to buy 2 old tractors, and they towed
and rode them to the empty shell which was cursed to be empty. "The
Hit" expected it always would be empty as he returned for his last
weeks work in Ridgedale.

"The Hit" got a visit the next morning in the carport from Garth's
neighbour to the north while having a cigarette in the carport. The
neighbour talked to "The Hit" about what he had heard the occupants of
the Black Van talking about the previous night. The neighbour
mentioned to "The Hit" that the occupants of the Black Van were
talking about guns. "The Hit" said what? He added that they were
talking about shooting "The Hit". The neighbour said he could not get
involved because he had a family, and he told "The Hit" that he should
be careful. "The Hit" was not surprised. Instead, he was pleased to
know what Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew were planning. He could not
believe Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew could raise such an attack? Why
would he wait so long to raise this attack? It has been 1 1/2 years
since "The Hit" has told Jimmy The Junkie there would be no more
computer equipment. The Mysterious Financier must have promoted "The
Hit's" face recognition in downtown Vancouver in September to follow
him to Ranelagh in Burnaby. The Mysterious Financier must be funding
the Black Van. Jimmy The Junkie and his crew were being used by the
Mysterious Financier. Why? "The Hit" was sick of the prospects, and
he did not feel right physically either. He slept with Berth beside
the bed.
