Recover data from a deleted Form

Hello,

For the last 4 months we have been collecting data from the field. But unfortunately a new admin to the system deleted the form and now we do not know how/if we can recover the data.  Is there a way to recover data that synced before the form was deleted?

Hi Akigo

Please could you give more details about how the user 'deleted' the form. In most cases we don't support deletion however you can 'archive' forms. If you have the ID of the form you can likely restore it.

Hello Simon,

The xml version of the 'original' form was exported, the form was deleted from the module and then the exported 'original xml' re-imported into the same module under a different name. 

I've requested for the form ID of the original form. Hopefully we can restore the data that way. (Fingers crossed)

I noticed with the other 'deleted' (or renamed forms) as above, i am able to export the forms data though the link changed to one using using the ID and i had setup these export forms prior to 'deletion'. I'd not gotten round to doing the same for this form.

Sorry for the delayed response, I have been on leave.

Based on your last email I understand that you are talking about a form in the app. Deleting the form from the app won't delete any submitted data. You should still be able to view the data in the reports.

Heya Simon, thanks for your response and i hope you had a lovely holiday. 

So what i ended up doing was to go into reports and download each individually submitted 'xml' of the form. Total of 345'ish forms, then parsed the 345 xml's externally to get the data i needed. 

Is there an easier way to restore the form and use export Forms to download the form data? Easier than through reports? Or is this in the advanced reporting feature that i probably have no access to yet? We have the standard commcare plan
