I changed the time zone from GMT to GMT+5:30 but when I use the now() function, I still see time as per GMT. Even the excel exports do not reflect the time zone change. Could anyone please suggest what could be done for this? Thank you.

Hi there,

For forms submitted in the past, the stored values will not be updated by a change in device setting. So in exports, you may want to consider doing a calculation in Excel to update the time values in old form submissions / case properties. For new for, submissions, however, now() should be calculating based on the updated timezone.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Kriti

Thanks Kriti. I tried as you advised but the time zone change in the project settings is not reflecting in the exported data. By the way, I have faced this issue in every other project i have created. Could this have something to do with using the free community version and not a paid version?

Nikhil

Hi Nikhil,

Times in exports are only shown in UTC and are not affected by time zone settings - there is a Uservoice ticket for this idea if you would like to vote in support of it: https://dimagi.uservoice.com/forums/194740-data/suggestions/9904056-have-data-export-timezone-match-project-domain-tim

Additionally, I think that times captured by the phone will always be shown in the timezone the phone was set in when the form was filled out, so you would need to use a calculation like the one Kriti suggested.

Hope this helps,

Jeremy
