Hi,

I was wondering if its possible for one of my mobile workers to be in charge of checking that forms are making it onto the server.

Do I need to create a Commcare account for him and make him an Admin? Or can he somehow login as a mobile worker in order to check the Submit History and Case List??

Thanks for advice!

You have to create a web account for them. The don't have to be admin unless they need to check data for other project spaces as well.

Actually you can give mobile workers access to reports too. To do this, you can create a role[1] that only has access to the reports you want, and then assign that role to the mobile worker.

Also, they will have to login as follows:

  1. Sign into your domain using the credentials of a mobile worker.
    1. From the regular login page you must use the fullly qualified username (mobileu...@domain.commcarehq.org) to login. This is NOT the email address and password combination you use to log in to CommCareHQ to view reports, manage users, or modify an application.
    2. Alternatively, if you navigate to "www.commcarehq.org/a/project_space_name]/login" you can log in with just the mobile user name and password (i.e. it is not necessary to put @domain.commcarehq.org[2]

Hi Natasha,

First of all, I'd like to assure you that forms are either successfully sent to the server or remain safely on the phone. Forms remain on the phone until the server notifies the phone that the forms were successfully received - this is how we ensure forms cannot get lost in the middle.

Secondly, your mobile workers can see the status of their forms on the mobile application itself. The app displays the number of unsent forms that remain on the phone.

On Android phones, the number of unsent forms is displayed on the "Sync" button of the home screen. Under the sync button, a notification is displayed whenever forms have been successfully sent to the server.

On Java phones, the number of unsent forms is displayed on the "Send all unsent" menu item, or if the app is in Sense mode, it is displayed on the top bar of the phone.

If you are concerned that forms may accumulate on the phone, you can set an "Unsent form limit" for your application. If an application exceeds that limit of unsent forms, the phone will highlight the unsent forms message in red to make the issue more apparent. Read more about configuring this limit and other application settings here: https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Application+Settings

Sorry if we are overwhelming you with information, and thanks for reaching out!

Amelia
