ASCII communication Paradox security

Hi,

I would like to know if i can easyly send and receive ASCII commands
to a paradox security module before i buy the module.

I think you can use it but you still need an ip to rs232 gateway like
Global Caché.

yes i know I need an IP/rs232 module.
but how to enter this commands in CF?

Easy is the operative word. You can easily send data to the device using
iViewer. What you need to send is the issue. knowing what has to be sent
will require an in depth understanding of both the iPad (iViewer) side, The
interface device you choose to use to perform TCP to serial conversion, and
what the Paradox module requires. The last item is probably the hardest
part

I suggest you go to my web site where there is a Serial/IR demo program.  It uses Javascript to a significant degree which is either a good or a bad thing depending on your familiarity with Javascript. The serial comm examples all uses a Global Cache as does the IR system.

First you make a new system in CF with the ip number of the Global
Caché with tcp port 4999.
Second you make commands. For example: ZL001\x0D
To request the zone label 1 as you can read on page 12 below.

Thx Joep this is clear, this is what i tought, really easy.
I was confused because of the ASCII designation ;-)

how do you deal with the code of the alarm system?
