Onkyo TX-NR509 control over IP

Hi,

Can I ask how many people are controlling these AVR's over IP and are
any of you having issues with the units locking up?


I know that the Denon AVR's are flaky with IP control, but thought the
Onkyo's should have been good for IP control


Was there any right way of making them work that makes them reliable?


I was intending to add a poll in to the system if that would help, but
not sure the best way to keep the poll alive?

This is using iViewer 4 to make a constant connection

I've been controlling onkyo from crestron via ip.
Once in a while I have to remove power from onkyo and reapply power for it to respond to ip control.

On one of my later jobs instead of giving the onkyo a static ip I assigned an ip in the router to the onkyos Mac address. Seems to be more stable so far.

I haven't controlled onkyo direct from I viewer yet but would love to.
Going to research how to talk direct now. Any advice would be appreciated.

There is an onkyo gui on the mailing list with feedback but no JS
