Hi Guys,

I’m streaming a Hikvision/Hunt Camera on a subpage with the Video Tool. I’m using the following url:

http://ip/Streaming/channels/102/httppreview

The problem is that I can only connect with one ipad/web page at a time. I get the following error when I try to connect from a web page:

<ResponseStatus xmlns="http://www.std-cgi.com/ver10/XMLSchema" version="1.0">

<requestURL>/Streaming/channels/102/httppreview</requestURL>

<statusCode>4</statusCode>

<statusString>Invalid Operation</statusString>

</ResponseStatus>

The camera is set to h264, but only works when iviewer is set to mjpeg. I have set the camera to substream and mjpeg, but it makes no difference. I also have the cameras SVC on.

Has anyone ever encountered this, or have any suggestions? Many Thanks

Scott

That is a limitation of the camera.

You would either need a different camera that will provide what you need or use video streaming server software. Something like Wowza (Commercial)  or Open Broadcaster (Open Source).

Thanks for your feedback Steve. I’ll look into Open Broadcaster running on a Raspberry PI

You might also be able to find a direct stream URL (rather than a webpage view url) that will allow more than one connection.
What is the model of the camera?

Does that URL just show the stream, or some whole web page?
You need to get the actual stream URL, right click the stream and do "copy image address" or something similar in Chrome.

Wow... I didn't know it was that simple to get the URL just by right clicking in Chrome..!
Unfortunately I have the same problem with only one device able to stream the image address:

http://ip/Streaming/channels/1/preview

The URL only shows the stream. I appreciate all the help and direction. Thanks

OK so it definitely can only handle one stream at a time unfortunately.
Either get a different camera or introduce a middleman like one of the software options that Steve recommended.

Try the MJPEG video URLS listed here, you can try using the URLs for the different models as well : http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Hunt

Thanks Terence. I was able to find the Hunt API. Deiby has shown me a great work around using an Android Box. Unfortunately the Frames Per Second don't meet my Type A personality requirement.... Cheers!
