To assist people with finding out what cameras, DVRs and analog video IP Streamers are capable of streaming direct to iViewer -  We have put together this page: http://www.commandfusion.com/wiki2/software/knowledge-base/brand-knowledge-base/video-streams

While we will add models and brands to this list as we get the chance to test them, we are obviously unable to test everything out there.

So we need your help - if you have experimented with a device and trying to get it to stream to iViewer, please posts your results here.
This information will then be added to the wiki page to help other users. Please even let us know if you find a model that doesnt work - we may add a list of unsupported devices if it is warranted.

In order to make the information as useful as possible, please provide the following details:

Brand:

Model:

Link to model website page:

Example stream URL format (if known):

Any other notes/info to help people. This could be an iSpyConnect page, an example GUI file or other piece of useful info. :

Please post the above details in this post and we will add it to the Wiki.

Thanks!

The following Camera does NOT support streaming in a format compatible with iViewer....infact, I do not think ANY of the Geovision cameras do...so best to avoid Geovision for iViewer use.

Brand: Geovision

Model: GV-VD320D

Any other notes/info to help people. . :
If you do have one, you need to use the "image tool" and refresh the .jpeg image using a url as per below.

Brand: Trendnet (tested this one, compatible versions available)

Model: TV-IP310PI or TV-IP311PI

Example stream URL format: http://IP_ADDRESS:HTTP_PORT/Streaming/channels/2/httpPreview

Any other notes/info to help people:

Autentication is done on 'Security' tab: user and password.
Very important: Only works with firmware version v5.0.1, later firmware uses different authentication method (cookie based?). Did not manage to get this running on CF.
Use Web interface to set the stream configuration for MJPEG.

Some notes: logins are default, change them to yours...

camera set to H.264, stream 1-1920x1080  worked but then image froze on android (samsung S7)
-didn't work on old I pad

camera set to H.264, stream 2 (substitute stream number in url above) 352x240 worked on android, occasionally freezes but image restarts when you touch the phone or iviewer
no entries in the security tab of designer

camera set to mjpeg, and 352x240 stream 4, did not work in android, got only spinning timer on ipad, tried cbr and vbr, tried 15 fps, no luck.

And some more negative results for both android and older i pad.

This didn't work either:

Hi folks,
I have a few camerass that only do rtsp and do can not be shown in iViewer.

So I have setup VLC on a windows (and also tested on a linux server) to re-stream the rtsp as http. Note in my case, these are 5MP and 4 MP cams so  i use one of the secondary streams which are set to a lower resolution.

On Windows I had to use an earlier version of VLC as the current versions gave an error. I am using VLC 2.1.5 on Windows.

The Windows command I am using is as follows.
vlc.exe -I dummy -R rtsp://account:pass...@192.168.40.13/Streaming/Channels/2 --sout "#transcode{fps=20,acodec=none}:standard{access=http{mime=multipart/x-mixed-replace; boundary=7b3cc56e5f51db803f790dad720ed50a},mux=mpjpeg,dst=:8883/videostream.cgi}"

This is then accessed in guiDesigner Video Window as Stream URL: http://192.168.0.11:8883/videostream.cgi

(Where 192.168.40.13 is the IP of my rtsp streaming camera and 192.168.0.11 is the IP of the Windows box running vlc to do the restream).

cpu usage is pretty low (5-10% per stream on a 1.6Ghz Celeron ) I hope that helps some others out as VLC's wiki instructions is way above my pay grade!
