Intercultural communication scholars use broad frameworks from anthropology to identify and study cultural differences in communication, Two of the most relevant were developed by anthropologists Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck and by social psychologist Hofstede. Intercultural conflicts are often caused by differences in value orientations. For example, some people feel strongly that it is important to consider how things were done in the past. For them, history and tradition help provide guidance.

Culture is influenced by communication so much. For example, Eastern countries had a very traditional style of wearing in the past. They wore that as usual clothes, everywhere and every time. Nowadays, due to the communication with Western countries to make business, exchange culture… Eastern countries have very significant changes in their custom, appearance, especially how to dress. They wear vest for business meeting, modern hair style and even talking style instead of the old style.

I think communication and culture influence each other. In the past, we only communicated with our family members and friends, because we all have the same culture and same language, which is very intimated. we defined it as home. Nowadays, because of some bussiness, study, and other reasons, we are not staying in only one place. we begin to communicate with others who might come from different countries with different cultures. we communicate each other, so we can learn each other. we can accept some kinds of new values. we are changing. we are no longer to be conservative. Our culture has been influenced or changed. We also spread our culture to influence other countries' cultures. This world is becoming a globe village. When we communicate more, we change more. One day, I think there is no notion defining which country you are from. We all human beings. we are people.

I think in Interpretive's perspective, communication reinforce culture. For example , they drink coffee every morning , and see it as their teamwork. To be a member of culture, everyone will do that everyday. Therefore, they have time to communicate and it lead to  reinforce their culture . They take it as a habit , as a unalterable event so it gradually become their culture.

Culture definitely plays a very important role in communication. For example there will be a big communication problem between two persons when one give importance to his old traditional values and other person is a modern person who is liberal when it comes to his traditional values. A person coming from a traditional family will be imbibed with traditional values initially and he or she may change his opinion based on the surrounding and people he is influenced by. In my opinion people have to act to the situation and circumstances. If a person is talking to a conservative person whom he or she cares for, he needs to try and  talk conservatively and vice-versa. Its important to understand other persons feelings when you're trying to have a healthy communication with another person.

I want to talk about how culture influences communication. Communication is one kind of behavior culture influence. Communication affects the value between maintain and behave.culture affects the messages one delivers and how one communicates. In fact, cultural values affect communication behaviors. For example, 07/15 is chinese ghost festival and childen would not go out at night. in my memory, I never went out at night on 07/15.
