Heicfiles were not supported on windows until recently and is still not supported on all devices since in effect it needs a codex plug-in, Microsoft call them HEIF ! thus there is a commercial one for MS paint support or else use the MS apps HEIF version. [Later Edit] but SumatraPDF from version 3.4.14180 onwards can use any suitable windows codex that itself views those files, ensure the image is viewable in classic photo viewer first.

NOTE Windows itself must have the heic/heif support added for SumatraPDF to be able to use it.

For Windows 10 users it may or may not have been installed via Microsoft but there is a free non commercial version for windows 7/8/ and upwards so check out

Even when on Windows installed third parties plugin ( copytrans heic for Windows ) and could open .heic files with Windows EZ controller still didn't see them. When I changed extension from .heic to .jpg, bmp, .tif, .raw Windows still could open them ( using copytrans heic for Windows plugin ) . When extension was changed EZ controller saw files, but didn't open them ( errors 01517-00000 and 01503-00000 ) .

Maybe is some optional EZ controller module, or plug in to open MAC ( iPhone ) pictures? In USA .heic is more popular, than in Europe. Maybe someone know how to open these files directly ( without conversion to some other format ) .

Thanks. I know how to open or convert on Windows and question not about that. It is strange, that EZ controller can't open them. ( even the latest - version 7 ) . As far as I know .heic quite popular in USA, so should be some other method than conversion. When have few files they can be converted, but when have many of them it is not comfortable. It is strange, that software which can open ,raw, trz , .prm and many other picture files can't do the same with .heic.

Sorry, but when we are talking about Fuji then EZ controller can be installed on Fuji LP-7xxx series minilabs ( from LP-7000 to LP-7900 ) and on DL-4xx series dry printers ( from DL-400 to DL450 and DL-42SD ) . These printers and minilabs are made by Noritsu.

Fuji minilabs can be connected to MS01. For example LP-2000 can be connected :

On 7.20 added many cameras, if compare with 7.00. Sorry, but list was not provided. Many new files can be opened, but some still can't. Even similar cameras files can be opened, or not. EZ controller can open any file, which can open Windows Microsoft Photo Viewer, or added file support on EZ controller.
