Between 2006-2008, Element became a battle MC while attending at Barolong High school. Mahikeng residents still rave about the battle rap sessions that used to take place at the Mall every weekend. This was a way for him to start building his fanbase. News started travelling around that there is an undefeatable kid who is willing to battle any rapper and learners would come from a not too far school to challenge him but they would always walk away disappointed. A South African popular TV show was travelling to Mahikeng to find the best freestyle rapper and Element participated alongside forty-five to fifty other freestyle MCs. The judges decided to send him home after he made it to the top 9. He was then offered his first ever record deal by a local record label. This is when he became a recording artist and started to release his first songs. After releasing these songs, upcoming event organisers from a Secondary School went looking for him at his high school during school hours because they wanted him to perform at their upcoming event. On the side, his current record label was sending him to perform at government events that were taking place around North West Province. He was seldom invited to radio interviews at a commercial radio station and he always had new bars to rap and listeners loved to hear him rap. Even though he had a busy music life he was awarded a certificate for English, he managed to finish his schooling and also received his matric certificate plus passing very well.
