Q:Why does my RF generator exhibit a overheating error?
A:Our 1000W RF generator does have thermal protection. If the generator
gets too hot either because of environmental conditions or because it
is failing internally it will set the Overheat indicator and shut down
the generator.

Things to check

# Make sure all the fan screens are clean. There are two on top of the
system, one on the lower right back panel and two more on the bottom of
the tuning network area (have to open the top two back doors).

# Make sure all door interlocks are functioning properly. If a door is
open or one of the switches is not fully closed it will set the
overheat indicator on the generator and prevent RF.

# Check to see what the supply voltage to the system is. The generator
has internal taps for different supply voltages. When shipped it is set
for 208. If your line voltage has changed and the generator is not set
correctly it will overheat and shut down. You can click here to
view/download the procedure to set the tap to the correct voltage.
