4-Hour Comics Challenge
Sunday 27 April 2014, 12pm - 6pm
Announcing Singapore's second 4-hour comics drawing challenge of 2014!
Have you been procrastinating on that comic book you've been planning to create? No more excuses, cos it's time to get those creative juices flowing again! Come hang out and make friends with the artists and writers who are addicted to the annual 24-Hour Comics Day (which, by the way, is coming up on 4 Oct 2014).
Why you should take part:
-- It's only a 4-hour commitment.
-- It's on a Sunday afternoon, so no distractions from work.
-- Meet other creative folks in a cozy venue.
-- Show off your pages when you're done.
-- Check out other people's pages at the end of 4 hours.
-- Free registration. No need to pay money!
Spectators:
If you're not up to doing any of this drawing stuff, you're welcome to spectate. Hmm... is that even a word?!! Anyway, just drop in and be a creative voyeur!
Rules:
1. Bring your own art material.
2. Set your own goal. Make it a realistic goal that you can accomplish in 4 hours. The default goal is 4 pages in 4 hours, but it doesn't have to be page count. It can be character design, it can be pencil thumbnails, it can be a rough story script -- anything that brings you closer to an original comics story. It's great if you aim for a complete story, but it's also fine if you aim for a chapter or section of a larger work.
3. Own your goal and announce it to the world. Enter it in the registration form below. Everyone will get to see what you're aiming for, so that we can give you encouragement and support.
4. Check out other people's goals and give them your support!
5. At the end of 4 hours, whatever you have accomplished, be proud of it, put it up on your desk and share with everybody. After that, bring home and do whatever you want with it. You can continue working on it, you can publish it, you can kickstart it, whatever. It's yours!
