You're invited to a party on Jan 24th to raise funds for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health

To My CUNY Public Health Heroes, 

I'm writing to invite you to a party! Thursday, January 24th, I'm marking Roe v. Wade’s 46th anniversary by raising funds for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH). 

I'm proud to be raising funds for NLIRH and here's why:

1. In the fight to protect our reproductive rights we need a broad coalition working together to make an impact and NLIRH is the main organization focused on repro rights advocacy within the Latinx community.
   
2. Not only are they working to protect reproductive rights, they also are fighting for access to health care and to reduce health disparities for Latinx and all immigrants across the country.
   
3. In 2018 they collected 1,000 comments opposing Trump's public charge rule change, which attempts to deny legal immigration to those who use public programs such as medicare or food stamps.
   
4. They Got Out The Vote; creating education materials in Spanish and reaching over 12,000 voters to educate them about important repro health as well as other health and immigration issues.
   
5. Their Latina Access Network boasts 6,000 activists across the nation fighting for their rights to health, dignity, and justice.
   
6. NLIRH knows the Latinx population is more pro-choice than most people assume and they do the research to prove it. Their polling shows that 73% of the Latino/a community believe it is important that the Supreme Court uphold women’s access to safe, legal abortion. 86% of the Latino/a community believe that birth control is important preventive care.

So will you join me in celebrating and supporting their work on Jan 24 at a raucous night celebrating Roe v. Wade's 46th anniversary?
