Sorry, I've been very lazy recently. However there's a pull request that makes blog to be 1.8 compatible. I need to merge it all in, but give that fork a try.

The problem with 1.8 was that it had no file uploading capabilities. Has it already fixed?
If not, I'd rather stick to 1.6...

That's true. 1.8 doesn't have wysiwyg thing for files out of the box yet.
