Technical Support EngineerThis position is to provide technical support for SeaChange Video On Demand and Broadcast Systems. We work in a fast paced 24x7 support environment which will require answering of support calls on the phone along with being flexible to travel to customer sites when needed or to work various hours or over weekends or Holidays as needed.
The focus of this opening is for a Customer Service professional with strong computer skills and as such this job requires the ability to multitask, prioritize calls and display strong time-management skills. You will be required to take ownership of as part of a team to answer live phone queue calls as fast as possible while accurately recording the customers issue, contact information and setting the proper expectations for follow-up. A candidate for this job must also have very clear technical writing skills as service requests must be recorded for each issue and the detail must be accurate and customer readable.

Job Requirements

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (DATA WAREHOUSE) Responsibilities:
· The position is responsible for developing and applying advanced methods, theories and research techniques to the design and development of complex data base and data warehouse systems and software across multiple platforms.
· The Principal Software Engineer also directs problem solving projects or major phases of projects in the investigation and solution of advanced technical problems.
· Coordinates technical support staff, determines methods of approach, organizes means for problem resolution, reviews project progress, recommends technical corrections and evaluates results.
· The position also reviews literature, patents and current practices, assesses vendor capabilities, and provides technical consultation.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
· At least 8 years of related work experience for Principal level.
· BS or MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Ideally, the BS or MS degree program will consist of courses in Object Orientated Programming, Software Engineering, Networking or
Distributed Computing, Data Structures, and Operating Systems. Courses in Databases are required.
· Strong database design and reporting experience is a must. Strong experience in designing and implementing Data Warehouse/Marts and Mining. Able to architect, design, implement, and test

PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL WRITER
Responsibilities:
· The Principal Technical Writer will be responsible for all aspects of assigned documentation tasks and for prioritizing the tasks and deliverables. The writer must work comfortably with development engineers, quality assurance testers, and field service personnel.
· The Principal Technical Writer will work with a cross-functional group including Development Engineering, Systems Engineering, Customer Support, and Field Service to streamline and improve product and procedural documentation by providing clear, usable, and complete documentation.
· The successful candidate will work with Windows-based server systems in a lab environment to understand and document required product features and procedures. The operations to be supported might include hardware maintenance, system-level software configuration, installation and setup utilities (both command-line and GUI), diagnostic utilities and internal product development and release procedures.
· The writer is expected to have a reasonable level of knowledge in Windows and Linux technology, environments, tools, and terminology. The write should also have experience with documentation authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, Quadralay WebWorks, and other graphics and Web publication tools is also desirable.
· Work closely with hardware, software development and test engineers to understand functions, interfaces, and utilities used for products and engineering procedures.
· Work independently to write publication-quality documentation and work within a team to review documentation with peers and subject matter experts.
Requirements:
· College degree in Computer Science, English, Communication Arts, Journalism or a related field.
· 5-8 years experience writing technical documentation
· Proven ability to write clear, grammatical, and organized prose

C++ SOFTWARE ENGINEERS (Level II and Senior)

Senior Software QA Engineers Responsibilities:
• Designs, prepares documents and executes software quality assurance testing.
• Utilizes formal test and software quality assurance (SQA) methodologies and constructs test databases and network setups.
• Creates, extends, updates, and maintains functional details in client regression test plans.
• Sets up experimental networks, including configuration of servers, hardware and software on host operating systems to run simulations and testing.
• Responsible for coordinating SQA project tests when testing are performed across several related projects.
• Analyzes and reports significant bugs under the appropriate project/product.
• Tracks all bugs and project issues.
Requirements:
• Must have solid relational database experience, Automation testing, networking and programming experience.
• Knowledge of software architectures and all supported platforms (i.e., PCs, PC Networks, UNIX).
• Testing skills: Good understanding of testing processes. Follows a testing methodology.
• Experience in testing under Agile development.
