are there any plans to release 3.0 for windows?

Hi CBF -- I expect that we will have another update early next year
for both Windows and other platforms.
However -- The source code for the UNIX build will compile and run
just the same under Windows. If you download the 3.0 UNIX build, you
can just use the ak.jar file from that, or you can move the src
directory to your AK 2.6 src and recompile using the BUILD_AK.BAT
batch file.
We use the AK 3.0 version under Windows quite a bit and have had no
problems doing so with the 3.0 UNIX build.
Java is pretty good for that. :) -pc
