This is a minor release that no one should update to unless you need the specific new parameter support. For the UW Bruce lab, I implemented a "min_precursor_charge" parameter to allow searches for a restricted precursor charge range. There is also an MSToolkit update and some memory management code, both contributed by M. Hoopmann, but there's no new functionality besides this new parameter support. This release was created specifically for the Bruce lab.
NOTE: I also just discovered that Comet's Windows binary is running slower than it should; Linux searches do not appear affected. I see the issue in Comet Windows searches for versions 2024.01 rev. 0 through this release. The 2023.01 rev. 2 release is the most recent release that doesn't exhibit Windows performance issues. Addressing this issue is a priority going forward.
Updates in this release:
Per request, implemented the "min_precursor_charge" parameter. This, along with the existing "max_precursor_charge" parameter, allows for searching a restricted precursor charge state range. Feature requested by the UW Bruce lab.
