Hey good Comet folks,

I'm trying to install Comet for some experimental collaborators who are on Windows x64 machines. I don't know Windows well. I downloaded the comet.win64.exe file from here. When I try to run the .exe file, a transparent window appears briefly but is almost immediately closed and nothing else happens. The same happens when I've tried running as administrator.

Do you have any experience with this or suggestions? The IT people at CU Anschutz weren't able to help much.

Thanks very much.

Take care,
Erik Johnson (postdoc at CU Boulder)

Erik,

Comet itself is a command line binary.  What you see when you double click on it is that Windows launches a terminal window, Comet prints out its usage statement, and then the terminal window closes.  I'm guessing you don't just want to run Comet itself so I suggest you try out a software suite that has Comet integrated into it.  Look at the "Comet integration" section on this page.  Maybe try PatternLab or SearchGUI.
