Hi,
I am starting fresh on this. I am attempting to do build a real time
control system and a colleague suggested me, to install this version
of Linux http://www.linuxcnc.org/. This seems to be Ubuntu patched
with RTAI.

Below is some background:
1. Trying to do some data acquisition using NI PCI 6703 and 6221
boards.
2. Worked mostly in Windows environment, but am very familiar with
Linux, commands etc, but never did any serious work with respect to
any device drivers, installation, or software development.

Question:
1. How do I install Comedi drivers on this. I have downloaded the
files, but the directions are not clear.

Thanks.

I am essentially getting this, when I try to execute autogen.sh

$autogen.sh
autogen.sh: 2: autoreconf: not found

Any ideas how to proceed?

Thanks.

Ensure autoconf and automake are installed. See the "* Configuration" section in the INSTALL file..

Install autoconf presumably.

On debian the package is called autoconf.

I seem to remember having to install quite a lot of development packages to
get everything to compile. The apt-file package is quite useful for tracking
these things down.

Best of luck.
