Subject: Accepting Applications for Youth Camp at the 2013 Global
Entreprenership Summit

All,

As you may know, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) will be held
in KL this year from October 8 – 13. ECA has given us the opportunity
to nominate one young entrepreneur (18 – 35) to participate in the
Global Start-Up Youth Camp immediately preceding the GES. This will
be a great opportunity for an innovator, businessperson, or social
entrepreneur to receive mentorship training and network with other
young entrepreneurs from around the world.

Please share this information (attached and below) with anyone you
think might be a good fit for this opportunity and encourage them to
apply by August 23.

In addition, if you have other contacts interested in attending the
GES on their own, you can direct them here:
http://www.geskualalumpur2013.org/.

If you have additional questions about this program, please let me know.

Thanks,

Andrew

Don’t Meet These Requirements? Want to Attend the GES Anyway?

Malaysia will host the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit from October
11–12, 2013, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The GES is the
leading U.S. government-supported forum for promoting economic growth
through entrepreneurship. President Obama elevated entrepreneurship
as a critical pillar of U.S. global engagement in 2009 as a means to
deepen ties between the United States and the international community.
The President announced in his 2009 Cairo speech that the United
States would host an entrepreneurship summit to deepen ties among
global entrepreneurs, business leaders, civil society, and policy
makers. The President launched the GES in Washington, D.C. in 2010.
Turkey hosted the second GES in 2011, and the United Arab Emirates
hosted the third GES in 2012. Malaysia, as the first East Asian host
of the GES, is an ideal place to showcase entrepreneurship and
innovation as the drivers of Asia’s remarkable economic growth.

Under the theme Empowering and Connecting Entrepreneurs, the 2013 GES
2013 will feature panels on four separate tracks:

· Building an entrepreneurial ecosystem;

· Creating tomorrow’s game changers;

· Emerging trends; and

· Connecting for growth.

If you would like to attend the GES, without support from the U.S.
Embassy, you can find more information and register here:
