Dear Friends and Colleagues,
ActionAid Global Platform Myanmar is pleased to announce that
applications are open for scholarships for the 3rd batch of its Youth
Participation in Governance training. This time, the focus will be on
Peace: how young people can engage with peace-building processes and
participate in governance structures to build a peaceful society.
The training provides 4 weeks of intense learning, sharing of
experiences and practicing strategies and tools that empower youth to
promote peace in their communities and have a direct role in
peace-building processes. By bringing the issues of governance and
peace together, participants will not only understand the causes of
conflict, but also the routes to resolving conflict and building a
system of governance that ensures sustainable peace and development.
The training will run full-time from 5 - 30 August 2013 in English
language at ActionAid's dedicated youth capacity development centre in
Yangon. You will have access to experienced international and local
trainers, guest speakers who are leading roles in Myanmar peace
process and opportunities to participate in real-life peace and
governance processes.
The course fee is $1,000 including food and accommodation but not
transport. Full scholarships are available to participants from
developing countries, which covers everything except for transport to
Yangon. Please indicate when you apply if you wish to apply for a
scholarship. The deadline for all applications is 15 July 2013. We
will interview all prospective participants so please provide a phone
number we can reach you on.
