Hi. I am using Comatose CMS for our new website and so far it has been
excellent. However I am keen to include meta descriptions for each
page in the site and sadly Comatose doesn't make this an openly easy
task.

The simplest fix we've found so far is to edit the Comatose template
html.erb by adding a line for the meta description. But this approach
creates the same meta description for every web page.

Any help that anyone can offer on using Comatose to create an
individual meta description per webpage would be gratefully received.
Any thoughts?

Agreed.  I use a hack: I put keywords AND description in the keywords field, separated with a pipe (|) and then I split that in the template.  Works OK, but you might want to up the limit of the keywords field in the db.

Hi David,

Thanks for the answer. I have read your other posts on this matter
and can see that it presents a great solution. A quick check and I
can see that we can up the field length, VARCHAR, from 255 characters
to over 65,000 (with MySQL versions later than 5.0.3 ) which is
plenty!

Excellent and thank you for the tip.
