Hi All,

I hope this is acceptable to post information about another development in the community. There is an application for planning permit for the old service station site near the Gilbert Rd / Miller St intersection (application no. D/575/2012.)

I have only just noticed this, and objections need to be by 31 Oct, however I believe that this is another case of gross overdevelopment that is out of character with our community.

The application is for 5 storeys, 43 apartments and 39 car parks. Not only will this building be significantly higher than all other buildings, the additional traffic will cause excessive congestion around this intersection. This wil also set a precedence for future developments in this strip of shops.

The current development in Miller St is 3 storeys and only slightly taller than neighbouring older style 2 storys buildings, and is a more appropriate development.

There is still time to send objections to this application. I have attached the form required and this can be emailed to: townpl...@darebin.vic.gov.au

Please continue the effort to fight inappropriate developments in our neighbourhood.
