Few things are more divisive in shooter games than sniping. You either love taking a perfect shot from all the way across the map, or you hate getting your noggin popped by somebody you never even see. Depending on which camp you're in, Fortnite Battle Royale's latest limited-time mode is either long-range bliss or an intensive form of exposure therapy: welcome to Sniper Shootout.
Pick this mode and you'll be dropped into a nightmare world where sniper rifles (bolt-action or semi-automatic) and revolvers are the only guns. Can you tell I'm awful with both of those weapon types? Consumable items like the new health-and-shield-maxing Chug Jug still spawn as normal so you can heal back up after some bastard on a mountain peak roughly two states away misjudges their shot and just puts a hole in your chest instead of your head.
Yes, I'm salty, but I'm also going to keep playing this mode because I desperately need sniping practice for shooter games in general (Fortnite Battle Royale is free, so you might consider doing the same even if you haven't tried it yet). I'm getting a feel for bullet drop, now I just need to work on leading my targets so I can hit people who aren't standing still as they scroll through build mode. Speaking of building, the lack of explosive weapons and need for good vantage points make Sniper Shootout a very fort-friendly mode, too. As long as I don't shoot you.
Like all of Fortnite Battle Royale's limited-time modes, Sniper Shootout is playable only in squad mode. You can disable the automatic team-filling option if you don't have any buddies to play with and you're tired of being matched up with teammates who never try to revive you even if you're holding your guts in right next to them (yep, still salty over here). You'll be at a disadvantage against squads that actually work together, but at least you won't have to wait for your character to bleed out to make sure you get your rightfully earned challenge progress.
I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. But that challenge is better than sniper rifle eliminations, which I am terrible at getting. I believe a workaround for this for bad snipers is downing players in Duos or Squads and then sniping them at close range for the final execution.
Well they're only useless because their damage is abyssmal. Best sniper does 55 dmg? Then when you include the bullet drop off there is virtually no reason to snipe long range. Mid-range might as well use a LMG/AR because that's what they're there for. They could increase the projectile speed of the bullet at the very least.
The only exception are Wingman & Peacemaker, a pistol & shotgun that outclasses AR's on range and it have to be looked at.
PS: What I like to do is use Tripletake (or Longbow if I cannot find TT) with 3x scope as a armor removal tool from backlines as Caustic. Assisting my pushing team (Bangalore + Wraith) with Nox Gas, Nades and punching enemy from different angle while keeping my barrels in case they want to rush me instead.
Considering the fact that it would take me 4s to recover that 100 dmg from your longbow head shot then yeah...pretty pointless... You have 0 chance of knocking me with a longbow. Soon as the first shot lands I'm popping smoke...throwing a airstrike between you and me and 4s later I'm healed and gone or waiting in the smoke with a r-99 and 301 combo with digital threat scope ready to rip your face off...so yes...snipers are pointless scout a 15dmg buff. Longbow needs a fire rate increase OR a dmg buff...75 body 150 dome sounds about right triple take I've got no clue honestly...not my cup of tea...kraber is fine and to be honest the number of times you find a good sniper opportunity is rare...not too many ppl sit still in the game...not exactly a crouch camp or prone type of game...sure it happens but at a distance where a sniper would make it worth it would put you inside of AR range ( any further of a shot would be pointlessly giving away your position) all to be turned on with a 60 rnd spitfire with purple stock and barrel stabilizer and a 3x ranger scope destroying your life
It's true that sniping is not favoured in this game, but I kind of like it. I hate the sniper 1-shot mechanic (e.g. counter strike AWP) unless it's a hard-to-land headshot with strong weapon sway PUBG style.
You could just buff them enough to be played - considering the movement options in this game it should not result in snipers being used exclusively. But then again, you'd probably want a bigger map in future (that would fit 100 players) where snipers could really excel.
I completely agree...I don't personally feel any weapon should be 1 tap...but seems like alot of ppl are for some reason ok with a shotty being 2 tap body with MAX KIT. if this is the case the game will soon turn into a pile of shotty crap just like fortnite.
In Elite Ghost Sniper, you slip into the role of a highly skilled marksman with a critical mission. Your duty is to eliminate the enemy forces threatening your base. Set in an intense battlefield environment, you will have to use strategy and precision to pick off your targets without alerting their comrades. This exhilarating sniper-themed adventure game tests both aim and strategy, as each successful hit brings you closer to victory.
The game is controlled using the mouse for aiming and shooting, while the keyboard allows for movement adjustments. Use stealth to avoid detection by enemy forces. The challenge increases with each level, requiring strategic planning and swift responses. Your progress is marked by successful hits and mission completion, so aim carefully and make every shot count.
Stay hidden, take cover when necessary, and always scout your surroundings before taking the shot. Remember, an alerted enemy is a more dangerous one, so it's best to take them down undetected. Time is also crucial; aim for quick but accurate shots to maintain your ghost sniper reputation.
Since most of a sniper's time is spent on reconnaissance missions observing the enemy, his observational skills have to be flawless. USMC Scout Sniper School has developed some unique "games" to hone student snipers' ability to look at things critically. This section details the games used to teach advanced observational skills.
The KIMS game that Army Ranger Sniper describes is played repeatedly throughout the two-month course. As time goes by, students are given more objects to look at and less time to look at them. To add to the challenge, the time between seeing the objects and reporting what they saw gets longer as the course goes on. By the end, they may see 25 objects in the morning, train all day, and then at night be asked to write down descriptions of all the things they saw.
Snipers' observational skills tie into their main mission: reconnaissance. Such intense observational practice rewires a person's brain. Army Ranger Sniper explains, "Even just driving down the road now I see weird little things on the side of the road that a lot of people wouldn't really notice."
Fortnite Creative continues to expand with a diverse selection of modes to play and concepts to experience. For the month of May, our roundup includes new codes for Find the Button, Sniper Battle, Gun Game, Deathruns and more. No matter what you like to play, these six new codes will cure your quarantine blues.
1) Meowscles Manor [6593-2551-3381]: In this expansive map by yojj47, players must search for 11 of Meowscles hidden Diaries to complete one of the most in-depth Find the Button challenges we've seen. Look under couches and behind giant bicycles to get a hold of Meowscles darkest secrets. This is a well-designed map that's lots of fun for those who love to hunt.
2) Sniper Noscope Map [4561-0891-3730]: If you're in the mood for some tactical action after all that diary searching, try this Noscope map code from Dux. There's no better way to settle a score than with an old-fashioned Sniper Battle, and this map sets the scene pretty well. There's low gravity and plenty of items that allow players to get major air in a mostly empty play space. Armed with some of the game's best snipers, it's your job to take down your opponent. This map isn't fancy, but it certainly gets the job done.
3) Gun Game Fractured Forest [4576-0707-8977]: In this spectacular take on Gun Game from Echo, players navigate what looks like a dark and moist reimagining of Weeping Woods. Cycle through different weapons to accrue 20 Eliminations, and you'll emerge the victor. There are lots of great Gun Game concepts out there, but this is certainly one of the more impressive new creations we've come across.
4) 1v1 With UNRELEASED Weapons [4044-5622-4438]: Want to have a slick 1v1 experience while catching a glimpse of weapons and items not yet officially released in Fortnite Creative? This awesome code from LDOhd should do the trick. This cloistered island map not only fosters a tense atmosphere, but it's also full of dozens of unreleased guns for players to try. It's even got some great quality-of-life features as well, like build destroy buttons and battle timers. Even if unreleased content wasn't part of the deal, we'd still be recommending this map to our readers.
