Rather than leaving your Christmas tree out with the trash to be landfilled, you can give it a second life by recycling it. Bring your undecorated (decorations don’t make very good mulch) trees to be turned into wood chips and mulch for local parks and gardens.  Please note that the City of Philadelphia does not recycle trees left at the curb.

Mark January 5th on your calendars – and bring your tree to Columbus Square Park – details below:

Christmas Tree-Cycling

Saturday, January 5, 2013  -    Drop off - 10 am to 4 pm   (Unfortunately, we can’t take early drop-offs)

Columbus Square Park  at  the corner of 13th & Reed Streets

A $5 donation is suggested to cover the cost of the tree chipping.

This event is jointly sponsored by:

Passyunk Civic Association

East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association

Lower Moyamensing Civic Association

Newbold Neighbors Association

Bartlett Tree Experts

Start the new year off right,  recycle your holiday tree.
