Furlough Internship

Hello everyone,

Maybe someone can help me out. I’m looking for a 10 week UNPAID part-time internship with a company that works with Ruby/Rails. Here’s my situation:

I’m a mechanical engineer for the Federal Government. If you’ve been watching the news then you know that DoD employees will be furloughed as a result of the Sequestration imposed by Congress (unless action is taken). I was just notified that our furloughs will begin on July 8^th. This means that once a week (on Friday or Monday) I will have a “day off.”

Instead of sitting at home on those days, I would like to use it as an opportunity to get more exposure in a rails shop or company. I am a beginner at Ruby/Rails and it would do wonders for me as a newbie. It would be a mutually beneficial relationship as I get more Ruby exposure and my host would get 8 hrs of free labor per week. What are your thoughts? Can someone hook me up?

Funny, I just saw a nearly identical request pop up on RubyPGH, and he had a taker within 10 seconds.


Maurice, I don't have an office in Cbus, but if you don't find anything maybe you'll take a look at my code and find a place you can dig at.
