“A tree is a perfect example of a person who is rooted in the earth
and whose head is in the heavens.”
— Hazrat Inayat Khan
Beloved Mendo Community,
There is a reason we return to the same patch of earth year after year. The Mendocino Woodlands isn't just a location; it is a teacher. Nestled in 700 acres of ancient redwood trees, ferns, and glades, this sanctuary offers a "deep quiet" that is hard to find in our busy, modern lives.
When you step beneath the canopy, your breathing changes. The "grandmother redwoods" hold a space of stillness that allows our songs, dances and practices to resonate more deeply. As we prepare for our 2026 theme, "Rise Up Rooted," we invite you to listen to the invitation of the forest itself.
A Glimpse into Our Journey
While the heart of Mendo remains timeless, our community continues to grow and ripen like the forest itself. These videos offer a beautiful look at our history and the spirit of camp from years past. You may see some familiar faces looking a little younger, but the joy, the dance, and the "Mendo magic" remain the same!

Mendocino Woodlands is a National Historic Landmark, built with a "rustic spirit" that remains in harmony with nature. From the gentle hidden summer river to the meadows where we share our meals, every inch of this land is a part of our practice.
To protect this sacred space and help our team plan:
Registration is open! We are moving past the Early Bird, but spaces are filling.
Help our Kitchen Trio: Registering now helps Dylan, Ulu, and Rahim plan the nourishment that sustains us under these trees.
