Dear Ones Dancing for Peace,

You are warmly invited to the next online gathering of Raleigh NC Dances & Practices! We hope you can join us on Sat 7-Feb for Gracious Brigid: Honoring Imbolc & St. Brigid's Day at 6 pm ET (UTC-5) / 3 pm PT / 11 pm GMT. The Zoom link will be sent the day before.

February 1st, St. Brigid's Day, is a national holiday in Ireland, acknowledged to be the First Day of Spring. The first lambs are born at this time. In the British Isles, February 2nd is known as Bears Day, instead of Groundhogs Day, because that’s when bears come out of hibernation. The Imbolc sacred cross-quarter season is traditionally recognized as being three days, January 31 through February 2. 

At Imbolc, it is believed that Brigid passes over the land, spreading life-energy to awaken the sleeping plants, flowers, and animals from their winter slumber. It’s customary to leave cloth out overnight to receive Brigid’s powerful life-giving blessing, then to use strips of the cloth for healing and for generating inspiration throughout the coming year. 

We'll begin our gathering on Saturday by Calling the Directions, lighting candles honoring Brigid of the Fire, Brigid of the Water, Brigid of the Earth, and Brigid of the Air. Please bring a light veil or scarf with you if you like. We hope you can join us!

This month marks the 6th year that we've sharing these online monthly gatherings of Dances of Universal Peace with movements modified for Dancing seated or solo, along with opening and closing practices and other heart-filled attunements. I'd like to acknowledge the presence, heart, skill, creativity, and dedication of Hayat Laurie Lindgren who has been my beloved companion in this journey since Day 1. Ya Shakur, beloved! May your new choices fill you and yours with Love, Harmony, and Beauty. 

May we all continue to enjoy our journey together Dancing in Universal Peace for our highest good and for the highest good of all ~ always, in all ways!
