The Portland Sufi Community is honored to host the 2026 Sufi Ruhaniat International Jamiat Aam. The Jamiat Aam is a sacred invitation to come together as a community in an atmosphere of inclusion and remembrance, so that we may explore the heart of unity.
Seekers, mureeds, dancers, and mystics of all paths and experience are warmly welcome as we explore the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis.
We are delighted to welcome Pir Shabda Kahn, Munira Reed, and Amina Meyer to guide us as we open to ancient wisdom for our modern times. Special guests Leilah and Bodhi Be will join us part time on Thursday and Friday.

Pir Shabda Kahn is the Pir (spiritual director) of Sufi Ruhaniat International. He brings gentleness, humor, warmth and rich experience in transmitting the universal Sufi lineage that traces from Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis. He travels worldwide spreading the Sufi message, sharing teachings and music to support seekers on their path to awakening.

Amina Meyer is a life-long student of Sufism, ontology (study of being) and thought work. She is a teacher of The Walks, has served as a life coach, and has maintained a Qadiri Zikr circle for more than a decade. She is a second-grade teacher, art teacher, puppeteer, and proud mother of three.

Munira Reed serves as a Sheikha, Cherag, and currently is passionate about work with the Beyond Initiative mentoring young dancers around the globe. She has published articles and books on women's issues, spirituality, and Aramaic practices. Her current writing project focuses on goddesses in the first-century Middle East during the time of Yeshua's life. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her wife and life partner of 34 years.

Leilah & Bodhi Be are our special guests and will join us on Thursday and Friday. Both serve as Murshids in the Ruhaniat. They teach throughout the year in Hawaii, across the USA and worldwide, often utilizing the sesshin format of retreat. Leilah is widely known for her compositions and leading zikr. Bodhi has spent decades in service in the fields of conscious dying and the care of the dying. Both are are ceremonial guides, counselors, and ministers.
