http://numpy.scipy.org/ -- multi-dimensional arrays for storing and
computing with large amounts of numerical data
http://www.scipy.org/ -- built on top of numpy, provides many math/
science/engineering type functions for linear algebra,
image and signal processing, data visualization. Much like
MATLAB in features.
http://www.cython.org/ -- translates Python code to C (for compiling),
optional tags for declaring data types translates to even
faster C code, has full access to existing Python and C code.
http://www.jython.org/ -- Python in the JVM, plays well with existing
java libraries.
