Dear CJR members & friends,
Hope this message finds you well. I would like to announce a general meeting regarding the upcoming 2-Year commemoration event for 3.11 Japan Earthquake scheduled for March 10 (Sun) at Barnard College, Columbia University.

Over the course of 2 years, we have witnessed a gradual decrease of Japan relief initiatives in NYC and beyond. Our organization, too, cannot escape the question of relevance in continuing our activities. However, it is exactly this question of relevance that we are taking on this time by going beyond the geographical framework of Tohoku to create a more humane framework, to show why Tohoku still matters. Titled The Great East Japan Earthquake: Creative Responses and Social Imagination, this event will shed light on people who named 3.11 as their defining moment and their creative responses to Tohoku. We hope you will join us for this meeting to make this event successful.

WHAT: General meeting regarding our event on March 10, 2013.
WHEN: Feb 13 (Wed), 7:30 - 9:00 pm
WHERE: EALAC Lounge, Kent Hall (4th floor)

Sincerely,

Daiyu Suzuki
