From time to time we are asked about Pickup in and around our area.
Here's a quick run down of the games we know about.

LEAGEUS
* Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) - Sponsors leagues year round. Games tend to take place in and around DC, so this may be a bit further south than some people want. WAFC's REC LEAGUE is one of the best places to learn ultimate if you are a beginner. If you are interested, go to http://www.wafc.org for more information.
* Central Maryland Ultimate Association (CMUA) - Holds leagues year round, more focused in the Baltimore area. Leagues can be a bit on the more skilled side and less friendly to beginners. If you want to know more about CMUA go to http://md-ultimate.org
PICKUP GAMES
* Tuesday @ 5:30pm: Columbia Ultimate Pickup: http://groups.google.com/group/columbia-ultimate.
* Wednesday @ 6pm or so: SOBO Ultimate. Banner Field at Latrobe Park, 1582 Andre St, Baltimore MD 21230. Wednesday games start as early as we can get access to the field. Since Banner field is shared with youth and community sports, start times can range from as early as 6:15 to as late as 7:45. Updates are posted each week on Facebook. * Thursday @ 5:30pm: Columbia Ultimate Pickup: http://groups.google.com/group/columbia-ultimate.
* Saturday @ 2pm (winter), 3pm (Spring, Summer, Fall): Odenton Pickup at Arundel High School. This is an excellent game with a slightly older crowd, but welcome to everyone. Attendance can vary but there's always enough to play with, even in the winter. Start time has been known to fluctuate between 2pm and 3pm. * Saturday (and sometimes Sunday): Sweet Air Ultimate. Sweet Air Park (3605 Sweet Air Road, Phoenix MD). Time varies depending on demand, but generally around 1 or 2pm. Check Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/822518564454693/
* Sunday @ 11:00am: Catonsville Ultimate. Western Hills Community Park, 1437 North Rolling Rd, Catonsville, MD. More details at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/catonsvillenumbskulls
WEB RESOURCES
* http://pickupultimate.com/ - There is a new website out there for finding pickup games that I absolutely love. It is really nicely built and easy to use. The down side is that it being new, not everything is listed. But check it out anyway.
* http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DCPickup/ - WAFC (Washington Area Frisbee Club) is more for our friends down toward the District. They run leagues in the DC area, but there is also a loosely
associated mailing list that tracks Pickup games around DC. Go to the site to see the schedule and join the list.
