Found this article on the Palmetoscop about a mac store coming to five
points.

http://www.palmettoscoop.com/2009/08/26/columbia-to-get-apple-store/

And here is the original article

http://www.dailygamecock.com/2.3455/buzz-has-apple-on-way-to-columbia-1.351115

Could it be true? Lets keep an eye on this.

I can't in good conscience suggest people actually click on either
link.

The first link ends up insulting Mac users, and the second one seems
to showcase the lack of a local repair facility. www.wegenermedia.com
is based right here in Columbia. How much more local can it get?

I noticed that they seemed a bit non-mac friendly. But even though they
might not be right, I have already told several people about
wegenermedia.com in the past few days. Mac Users don't know about them
here in Columbia.

Regardless, I don't care what there opinions might be. A mac store here
would be awesome

Perhaps Wegenermedia.com would be a good place to start with sponsorship? Seeing as the point of this group is to help spread information and no one knows about them, it seams like a win-win(-win for those of you who watch the office) situation.

@Dave - I don't disagree about the prospect of a store in Columbia
being awesome, and I am glad SOMEONE is spread that news. But I won't
support any group that is unfriendly towards Mac users. (The first
link) I mean we are trying to coalesce Mac users here, I would rather
not undermine our own position. People

@Doug - Jed has approached them already.

You're right! It was an authorized Apple computer reseller and service
center.
We're all hoping the recent news may point to a full blown Apple
retail store in 5-points. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
