If anybody is interested spectroscopy you should check out the spectrometer I just uploaded to http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28100 Its a plastic version of the PLOTS paper craft and PVC one. It uses an inexpensive grating and can be printed on just about any reprap printer. It mounts to any spartphone or tablet and if you are running Android will allow you to interface with the PLOTS open spectrum site to calibrate and save your spectra.
