Also,
This is a wake-up call. I've only received one reply on visiting the sites in N. Columbia on Saturday.  If you want to see a dedicated CGW space, you need to be part of making it happen.

I tried to order from bangood before.  I had to file a credit card fraud report after 30 days of no notification of shipping.  I was importing 3 cases of the syma 107's.  I wouldent order from them again.   As far as a perminant space. I am interested. I work in columbia. And the spaces listed are right by my office. I went by yesterday at lunch and they seem like they would work.  There is an other small warehouse shop place out at the millersburg exit that is simalar to the officeworkshop space suggested. But I figured millersburg is a bit far then  yall wanted.  How many people are we talking about splitting expenses among? And what incentive is there to join.  I already have a workroom to build my drones in. but what I really want is access to a lasercutter cnc or 3d printer. Or best option all 3.  I have been kicking around the idea of joining the arch reactor as i do spend a bit of time in Stl.  If this is to be more like a social club i would rather more of a set meetup situation like every x of the month meeting up.
Carl.

Good to know that about Bangood.  I hadn't ordered but was still thinking about it.

I think we would all like to move toward a model where we have a more fully equipped shop.  It's a bit of a "chicken and egg" problem.  You can't get tools until you have a space and there's no point in getting a space if you've got nothing to put in it.

My personal feeling is that this is just a version 1 hackerspace.  We'll finally have a place that we can work on collectively and which members can get access to 24/7.  We can move our donated equipment in there and start improving/upgrading what we own.  We can also get some discipline around dues and membership so as we grow we can get a bigger space, better location, and better tools.

In the meantime, it's equal parts social and resource oriented.   I have a workshop too.  I also have a laser, reprap, and CNC machines. I'm retrofitting the CNC mill and it should be functional soon.  I'm happy to cut/mill/print stuff for members.  That's one of the perks of social organization.
