Hello there. My name is Paul Rapoport, and I am a prospective student for Columbia and a novice rationalist. I will be visiting your campus Sunday and Monday. As such, my utility would greatly increase if I were to meet with and join your conspiracy, even if I fail to go to Columbia. I'm only an unranked initiate, but since nobody else is apparently stepping forward...I hereby induct you into the Bayesian Conspiracy. I'm looking forward to meeting you on Monday evening.  The meeting will start at 8:00, probably on Floor 3 of Hamilton (but note that Columbia floor numbers seem to be 2-indexed, so you only need to climb one flight of stairs).

I calculate a negligible probability that you will burst into flames, and an 80% probability that you will meet Eliezer Yudkowsky.

Sorry, yes, someone should have replied.  Definitely attend.  80% seems cautious but reasonable…I believe Eliezer plans to attend.

Sorry you missed it. Eliezer will likely be at next week. The NYC group has meetings on Tuesday. There's a party tomorrow.

As many of you already know, I am leaving NYC on Wednesday.  I am taking a position with SIAI and moving into Tortuga, going west in search of opportunity like so many frontiersmen of old...

I am immensely grateful to have had all of you in my life these past few years.  Together, we have built the community that I have been looking for my entire life, and barely dreamed was possible.  I have learned so much from all of you in my role as organizer.  Spending this time with you has been an incredible gift.  I am excited to see how you continue to grow and change, and I look forward to returning again to a vibrant community in the near future!
