Dear Undergraduate Community,

We at Columbia/Barnard Tango look to our undergraduates as the core life source for keeping the club alive and growing. As an IGB (Interschool-Governing Board) group, we are looking to bring on 2-3 more students to represent this part of the community. We currently are not looking for graduate student volunteers, but check back with us in the future for more updates. Also, seniors are not encouraged to apply. The following leadership roles are available on our board of officers:

        1) Secretary
  •         Record minutes from meetings, schedule meetings between officers, and schedule tabling sessions for community outreach
  •         Manage upkeep of binder and order food for practica
  •         Some financial duties may be assigned on an ad hoc basis
        2) Community Outreach
  •          Update flyers (should be comfortable working with adobe software)
  •          Responsible for coming up with fresh ideas for marketing the club to potential members, including advertising materials, etc.
  •          Head a project of your own or special event for getting the word out on tango: a special milonga, a coordinated day with Ballroom's class, etc.
  •          Should also organize tango outings with club members to practicas and milongas around the city
        3) Volunteer Coordinator

  •         This person does not take over the duties of the treasurer in obtaining change for the money bag, but must make sure that whoever is at the door has all the materials to run the lesson.
  •         Additional responsibilities will be assigned as deadlines to booking space approach.

*All volunteers will be granted free lessons for the duration of their officership, but should expect to spend some time at the door collecting money and will therefore not be able to dance in every available lesson.
