I have a number of (fairly simple) command files which work OK with 4.50.23

But they won't run on 4.55.02, instead a dialogue box with a 'Message from Pipedream' appears, displaying the following :-

'Please complete the existing dialogue box' + a single button 'Continue'.

Clicking the button dismisses the dialogue box, but the command file doesn't run.

Anybody got any ideas ?

Dave

Is this with RISC OS 5? If so, one problem is that double-clicking the command file icon in the directory viewer causes it to steal the focus from PipeDream, so it has no 'current' document to apply it to. I have a fix for some command file issues in the upcoming 4.56. Would you like a copy of the preview version of that to see if it fixes your specific issue?

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the reply, I had to post the question three times, & I still couldn't see it.  V.strange.
No, no, & yes please :)
Does this on 4.02, & 5.16, using the command button within the Pipedream window.
I can email sample files if this is required.
(BTW, being as I now have your attention, are there any pointers you can provide to my USB printer problem please ?

Hi Dave

Have sent you a preview copy to try but I think this may be related to
specific commands you are issuing. Could you please email me a couple of
samples? stuart.swales(at)croftnuisk.co.uk

Re: USB Printers - I honestly have no idea. I haven't tried to connect a
printer directly to a RISC OS system since very early 90s, being a big
believer in networks! You may have more useful response on the ROOL
forum for that one.

OK, have downloaded, but no difference, still get the dialogue :(
Will send the files I'm using along with a spreadsheet to use them on.

It's not so much that it's USB, than the interaction between the printer &
Pipedream in direct drive mode.  I have several network printers.  I modified
the DJ direct driver, to stop it sending a FF (I think - it's decades since I did
it) after sending a block (look at PrintDJ & DJ Eop command).

Already tried, response from Ian Hamilton was great & useful, though not
addressing the Pipedream problem.
